Ordering: Lead Times, Cancellations and Shipping

Lead Times

All products are made to order, and our lead times reflect this. Typically, we assign target ship dates 3 to 5 weeks out, though large orders may require more time to produce. The lead time for gradient blend orders is at least 6-8 weeks depending on the size of the order, which is further explained in our gradient blend section below. High demand may temporarily lengthen lead times. Call to find out current lead times. While 98% of our orders ship on or before the target ship date, there are no guarantees in handcrafted ceramic manufacturing.

Returns and Cancellations

Any changes to an order must be submitted within 24 hours of receiving the original order. All revisions and cancelations must be received in writing, and there are NO CHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS after 24 hours. If an add-on order is necessary, please reference the original PO number on all paperwork. However, we discourage add-on orders due to the artisan nature of our product. Variation in glaze color between shipments must be expected. Please make sure to order enough product to finish your project, with some overage for breakage and piece preference. All orders including Quick Ship are custom-made. Consequently, there are NO RETURNS.

Shipping Policies

Effective September 1, 2015 All orders are shipped pre-paid by Encore Ceramics via freight or UPS Ground unless otherwise specified on your order acknowledgment. We recommend that all orders over 250 lbs ship via freight, and depending on the product, we might also recommend that some orders weighing less than 250 lbs ship via freight to ensure safe travel.

All orders are shipped as they are completed, and we do not currently consolidate orders. If we receive a request to consolidate the shipping for two orders, we will do our best to accommodate that request, but we can’t make any guarantees.

If we lack all the necessary shipping information required to ship an order on the day it is complete, we will invoice the product on that day and invoice the shipping charges separately when the order leaves. If we are still unable to gather all of the shipping information necessary to send your order, after 3 days a $75 holding fee will be applied to the final shipping costs, and an additional $75 hold fee will be applied for each week that the order remains with us until we can get the necessary shipping information.

A $15 process and handling charge will be applied to all orders, with the exception of product samples and international shipments. For all freight shipments, a $20 pallet fee will be charged for each pallet required.

A $150 International shipment charge will be applied to all orders shipping outside of the United States. For all freight shipments, a $25 pallet fee will be charged for each heat treated pallet required. Depending on the requirements of the shipping company there may also be crate fees.

We can provide freight quotes for your orders. We’ll need to know the exact product and quantity being ordered, and quotes will be based on the estimated weight of the product and packaging combined. We will also need the following information:

– The zip code for delivery.

– Is this being delivered to a business or residential address?

   * Will a lift-gate be needed?

   * Will this be inside delivery?

   * Does the trucking company need to call before delivery?

– Is this being delivered to a construction site?

Quotes will be issued with a reference number that will need to be included on the PO. Quotes for truck shipments will be honored so long as the product and quantities are the same as quoted, and the order is submitted within 30 days of the quote being issues. Orders will need to be re-quoted if the product or quantities for the order change, or if the PO is not received within 30 days of the quote being issued. Quotes do not include process and handling fees or pallet fees.

Ceramic Tiles: What to expect on Variation and Range

About Variation and Range

Our glazes are designed to reflect our hand application, which causes them to vary from batch to batch, from tile to tile. Glaze variation is both expected and appreciated, as it is a significant part of creating a gorgeous finished installation. This variation is achieved in two ways: * All glazes are hand applied by artisans. * All glazes are made of natural materials, which may shift from batch to batch in intensity or hue (much like specialty stone). To create the most beautiful looks, many of our colors contain multiple applications of different glazes. These layers then create a series of complex reactions that we call “the party in the kiln.” The end result is stunning, but this complexity does make it impossible for us to control certain elements or behaviors of a single color. This is why we say to expect RANGE in your order and that you can get ANY or ALL range in an order. Glaze colors may also appear lighter or darker in different sized cavities within a design. The use of natural materials in our glazes can result in a shift in the color and behavior of each glaze over time. Samples that are more than 2 years old should not be the only samples used to sell your order to your customer. Additionally, reference samples may not reflect the full range to be expected in an order.

Please refer to multiple samples of a glaze, as well as our range guides or in our pricing binder under our glaze range tab) before finalizing your order. For high range glazes, please consider ordering a current sample of at least 2-4 pieces.

Photo Disclaimer

We have included photographs of glaze range and finished installations to inspire you in your design process. However, printed photographs are inadequate to fully communicate the visual and tactile aspects of our products. Do not order based on photos, and always obtain current samples before placing your order.

Stone Disclaimer

As the standard in our industry, stone may vary in size and thickness. Stone is a natural material and varies in appearance, hue, and texture from vendor to vendor and lot to lot. We cannot guarantee a visual match for add-on orders, or in coordinating with your other vendors. Encore Ceramics does not recommend the use of stone in submerged water applications.

Gradient Disclaimer

Because of the special attention and care we put into each gradient blend order, any cancellations or order modifications must be submitted within 24 hours of receiving the original paperwork. The design process for your order begins immediately, and any alterations affect our calculations. As with all Encore orders, there are NO RETURNS, for gradient blend orders. Please refer to the gradient blend section below for more information about the gradient blend ordering process.
